When my youngest daughter was in early middle school they were given a project regarding keepsakes and recognizing thier importance. She chose man’s best friend.
She chose Echo, the family Great Dane. Echo had only been with our family for less than a week. She came home on Tuesday and that following Saturday everything changed.
She explains her keepsake below, and still to this day it hangs on the wall in my office at home.
“Bark…Bark” The dog wagged her tail. The man got out of bed and dropped to the floor. My keepsake is a dog’s paw with a heartbeat stopping in the middle, I chose this because when I was younger my dad had gotten up to the dog out for a walk, then had a heart attack. If he did not get up and take her for a walk he would not be here today.
I did the dogs paw because of my dog, and the heartbeat stopping because my father had a heart attack. This is important to me because I love my family, and our pets, and I thought this was a good way to honor my dog, for saving my dad’s life. This is why I chose this for my keepsake project.

She has grown into an amazing young lady, graduated highschool and persuing a great career. She still calls me multiple times a week to check on me and spend the night to hang out with us and just relax.
No Longer Bullet Proof,
Ken
